JulesMy story, our story, and the rise of unity.

I have been reflecting on the journey of my life as a first generation Latina woman. I was born in California and as a child I visited family in Mexico. At an early age, I was surrounded by people who lacked resources and chose a risky lifestyle, believing they were “entrepreneurs.” I did not let it define or destroy me. I have lived “the product of my environment” type of life. I learned on my own and as I grew, I created my dreams.
I come from an immigrant family. I am sad and disheartened to learn about my parents’ early years here in America and all the abuse they endured. As immigrants, both my mom and dad were unable to stand up for themselves. They were not offered opportunities that opened doors for them. I think back to when my parents didn’t speak English and how difficult that was. I see my childhood had limited opportunities. It was a painful experience knowing there was something bigger for myself.
When I turned 18, I began working for a well known Republican in Sacramento. He was a UC regent and his goal was to abolish racial preferences at California Universities. Working with him behind the scenes made me realize that there are funds available to our people. I saw so much mismanagement of donor money. My 20 years of experience in non profit organizations, pushed me to focus my energy on so many injustices in the brown community. It’s hard to comprehend the hardships many of our people face.
I did an apprenticeship with a cannabis brand that is a veteran in the cannabis industry. I began assisting in growing rooms with the cloning process, which was healing for me. During this time, Canna Corazon became a concept I wanted to bring to life, and in 2020, it was founded. It is a brand that focuses on the love of the plant and cannabis. As I began to work on Canna Corazon, I started researching the process of developing my own strain and giving it a significant name. I created La Morenita, which depicts a Mexican warrior/guerrera, with the insight of the northern California culture that I grew up in.
I know so many people can relate to parts of my story. We didn’t choose to struggle but we survived it and came out better for it. Everything I have gone through made me a Warrior that strives to inspire others - helping them find their strengths and bring hope. Now I am dedicated to be a Warrior/Guerrera for La Raza! La Morenita is a strong GUERRERA and successful woman HUSTLER who represents strength, courage, hope, love, and life. My mission is to bring humanity back to the forefront and heal our people.
Thank you for listening to my story and for being part of bringing La Morenita to life!
